Brian and I live and garden in the Crestview neighborhood in Austin. We have 4 dogs, all mutts. I also knit, watercolor, take pictures, sew, stitch, cook, kayak, read, hike, birdwatch, bike, and watch way too much CSI. I work full-time as an aquatic scientist. Brian is a musician, currently playing with The Cold Hard Facts of Life.

Hello SMR – how cool as a cucumber to find your blog via Blotanical and see that we like the same Austin nurseries.
I’m looking forward to reading what happens in your garden.

You forgot to mention that you are a way cool Aunt and one of your biggest fans is your Piper! I want to come and visit your garden! xoxo PS. Your ceramic figures look a lot better than mine!
i love your blog, SMR. the mangy, flea-bitten mutts are another story.
Happy to discover your blog–looks like we have some similar interests beyond gardening. Thanks also for providing the official name for the bicolor iris and adding my blog to your list!
My bi-color iris is evergreen and provides some more linear lines to our xeriscaped front-yard garden, so I really like it. Mine bloomed more in the early Spring but recently bloomed a little more with some extra water. Cheers and welcome!
Hello fellow Crestviewer!
I found your blog while reading Cheryl’s (Concious Gardening) blog. CONGRATULATIONS on your lovely wedding. How fun! I think I’ve seen you guys around. I really love your photography.
Hi Susannah! I just had to say that we were also in the area last Sunday–at Buescher SP. I found a crazy mushroom that looked like a brain. We camped that night & the dog, who was very well-behaved otherwise, got sprayed by a skunk about 6:20am. That was exciting.
