My potted plants have moved from red-headed stepchildren to high priority. It’s too hot to do anything out in the garden, and I do have some cool plants that had been neglected for too long. The oreganos I had bought at Natural Gardener are doing quite well, I love their little lavender flowers and the series of bracts that look like little bells.
They are starting to drip down the edges of the pot, which looks really beautiful. This one with the woolly leaves is “Dittany of Crete” and the top one is “Hopley’s”.
I re-potted my ponytail palm and Epiphyllum, which had recently added a huge arching leaf. I had not been watering these as much as I should have. The Epiphyllum was a pass-along from a friend’s mother who has a fabulous tropical garden in Houston, I’ve been lucky to get some nice cuttings from her.
Speaking of potted plants, I must have this window film for my kitchen window. Cute, eh?
That first photo is especially lovely. I’ve never been very good with potted plants but this year I’m trying harder with them. It’s been much to hot to go out in the garden and I like having a little “conservatory” of ferns and other greens under the covered patio.
Very nice pictures. I too love the first photo in particular. Where can you get the film?
