Please head over to May Dreams to see what else is blooming! Here in Austin we have….
The crown of thorns that I rescued from the sale table at Breed & Co. for $6, finally blooming!
Summer snowflake, identified thanks to Pam at Digging. A lovely legacy of the people who used to live here.
Possumhaw– the bees are loving it.
The canine cows, eating the newly emerged fig leaves. It’s spring here!
Also in bloom– dayflower, satsuma orange, Blackfoot daisy, lettuce (It’s over! The sad thing about spring in Texas), four-nerve daisy, geraniums.
Enjoyed all your blooms, but your “canine cows” really made me smile. Thanks.
Pretty! I wanted to get a fig plant last fall, but I decided against it because I was afraid of how big it might get.
I’m tempted by a paw paw, how is it doing in your yard? Do you think it would make it in N. Houston?
I am interested in paw-paws too, and I think they would do fine in Houston. I have possumhaw, which is related to yaupon. –S
Randomly hopped onto this blog. Beautiful blooms. I’m not much of a gardener but I can appreciate nature in all its natural beauty. I did try my hand at it when I was just a kid though, but I didn’t have enough space. Living in a small apartment in NYC will guarantee I’ll have nothing but small potted plants, and that can hardly count as gardening.
Lovely canine cows you’ve got there too. 😛 I’m sure those fig leaves were really yummy. My aunt has a fig tree in her backyard, and they produce some really yummy fruits.
